Obituary of Barry Simpson
SIMPSON- Barry. Born September 30, 1947. With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Barry at the Welland Hospital on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Diane of 45 years, and father to Dan, Anne (Trev), Ken (Lynn), and Dave (Katie). Cherished grandpa of Julia (February 9, 2018), Jacob, Evie, Liam, and Rosalie. Dear brother of Bev (« his awesome sister »), and brother-in-law of Lucille, Alice, and Gord, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Barry is predeceased by his infant son Douglas, his Buttercup Julia, his parents Bill and Edna, siblings Jean, Doris, Don, Claire, and David, as well as his in-laws Gord and Helen Jolley and sister-in-law Gail. Barry worked in food delivery for many years, delivering milk, ice cream, chips, and bread. He owned and operated Simpson’s Variety Stores for 20 years and spent 28 years with Canada Bread before retiring in 2016. Barry loved and was so loved by his family. He loved his deck and back yard, drives through the country and along the lake. There are many happy memories of RVing with his family across the United States over the years. His favourite trips were to the mountains of Wyoming and Montana. He disliked winter and peacefully passed before the first snowfall of the season. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Welland Hospital for their care of Barry and his family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, were private and burial has taken place in Oakwood Cemetery in Wainfleet.
