Annette Ernst (Howell) It is with great sorrow to announce the world has lost another angel. The Howell family regrets the passing of Annette at her home on May 15th 2018. Through her travels in life, Annette was a caring person with a huge smile from ear to ear and always had a positive word for those she listened to. As well as being a native of Glace Bay, Annette was a long-time resident of Sydney, Nova Scotia where she touched the hearts and souls of everyone around her. While pursuing happiness in life, Annette eventually became a LPN in the Halifax region at the VG Hospital where she worked as a Dialysis Technician. Annette’s contribution to co-workers and patients she cared for earned her the 2014 Excellence in Preceptorship Award for the Capital District Health Authority. Annette was embedded in the church and will make her path home a much more comfortable journey.
Annette’s true love in her life was her family and friends that extended well beyond her bloodline. Born in Glace Bay, June 11, 1966, Annette was the daughter of Joseph Nathanial Howell and the late Margaret Jane (Douglas) Howell.
She is predeceased by her mother Margaret Howell, brothers Douglas and David. She is survived by her father Joseph, Christopher, Dart., LeeAnn, TO., Gail, Van., Stephen, Van., Shauna, N. Syd. She is also survived by her nieces Paige, Amanda and Jaliza, nephews Quentin and Nathan, grand nieces, Mya and Jade.
Annette will be deeply loved and missed by her co-workers in the health care field and church community where she touched the heart and soul of so many.
Visitation will be held at Cole Harbour Funeral Home, 1234 Cole Harbour Rd. on Thursday, May 24, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, May 25 at 12 O’clock. Private family burial. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 45 Alderney Dr. Dartmouth, NS, B2Y 2N6.
God looked around the garden, and saw an empty space.
He looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best.
He knew that you were weary, and He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never be well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered « Peace be thine. »
Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation.
