Anne Marie Bourgeois of Kolbec, N.S., passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 1, 2018, with her family by her side. Born in Longueuil, Quebec, Anne was a daughter of Joan (O’Halloran) Bourgeois of St-Bruno, QC, and the late Claude Bourgeois. Anne loved her family best and enjoyed tending her flower gardens and rural property. Thanks to her husband’s skill in the vegetable garden, Anne learned hundreds of ways to cook and preserve sweet peas, zucchini, tomatoes and other vegetables for her family to enjoy. Anne made many good friends during her more than 25 years of employment with Correctional Service Canada at Springhill Institution. In addition to her mother, Anne is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 25 years, Milton Wood; her beloved children: Abigail (Joshua) Lander of Fredericton, NB, and Lucas Wood of Halifax, NS; her siblings: Paul (Gaètane Lefebvre) of St-Bruno, QC; Marc (Hélène Lebel) of St-Basile-le-Grand, QC; Denise (Robert Lavallée) of Chambly, QC; Michelle of Ste-Catherine, QC; and Marie (Gabriel Abitbol) of Lachine, QC; her very kind mother-in-law Audrey Wood of Oxford, NS, as well as several cherished nieces and nephews and extended family. The family will receive visitors from 12-2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (902-447-2930).
