Anne passed away peacefully on November 14, 2018 at the age of 91. She was born in Budapest, Hungary and was raised in Drumheller, AB after the age of four. There she met her husband, Henry, and they resided in Calgary, raised a family and grew a business. They were together for 58 years until Henry’s death in 2006. Anne was an accomplished singer and still “croaked with the choir”, as she joked, until she was 90 years old. She was artistic and creative with her interior decorating, sewing, crafts, floral arranging, painting, and cooking. When it was age-appropriate, she joined the Red Hatters and had a ball. She also served as president and leader in various organizations such as: The United Fund, Cancer Crusade, Housing and Urban Development Association of Calgary (ladies), and the Electrical Contractors Association. Anne Worked with the Progressive Consertive Association for 20 years and managed the constituency office for three cabinet ministers during the 1960-70’s. Anne and Henry became snowbirds and wintered in Sun Lakes, Arizona for over 20 years. They also travelled as often as they could and provided many memorable holidays with their children. Anne will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Shari-Anne (Gregg) Stewart, Nancy (Reg) Butler and Glen LeGuyder; and grandsons, Gordon, Brett and Jameson. She was very recently predeceased by her grandson, Trevor Stewart. Also left to cherish Anne’s memory is her sister, Marian (Bill) Phalen; sisters-in-law, Marg Kaszas and Bernie LeGuyder; and all her nieces, nephews and friends she adored. Her final fun and happy years were spent at the Village Manor of Garrison Woods where she met old and new friends and continued to “meet and greet” – Anne’s special talent. With respect to Anne’s wishes, there will be no formal ceremony. A family gathering will take place at a future date.
