Our family’s beloved matriarch Flo passed peacefully in her sleep at Heron Grove at the age of 98yrs, with family by her side.
Flo was born in Wellsdale, Alberta, and moved with her family to Vernon in the late 1920’s. Growing up in Vernon, Flo worked with her Dad and siblings on the Coldstream Ranch and was fond of gardening, spending time at the cabin and fishing. Flo worked at the Hudson Bay for 32 years and had many work friends, even past retirement. Flo also loved curling and baking, and sharing her special gingerbread cookies with all her Grandchildren.
She will be missed dearly by her family and leaves behind daughters: Gloria (Grant), Marlene (Ches); daughter-in-law, Shirley, and grandchildren: Laurie (Ron), Dean (Denise), Nicole (Gord), Tanya (Rob), April (Trevor), and 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; her younger sister, Betty Dunstan; her sister-in-law Vicki Renner and many extended family members and friends.
Flo was predeceased by her son C.R “Bob” Trumbley, her parents and five siblings, and her past husband and friend C. R “Smokey” Trumbley.
The family would like to thank Cottage 6 staff and many others at Heron Grove for the care and kindness Flo received.
Flo’s Celebration of Life will be held at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Friday, December 28th at 2pm.
