Alice Mary Nieforth
Age 94, of Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home formerly from St.Peter’s passed away on August 28, 2018 at the Strait Richmond Hospital. Born in Oban , on July 5,1924 she was the daughter of the late Alex N. and Annie C.(Campbell) MacDonald .
Alice will lovingly be remembered by son Ronnie (Donna) Flynn,Grand Anse and daughter Vera Saltzman and husband Randy Slawson ,Fort Qu’Appelle, Sask., stepsons Alvin Nieforth (Glenda deceased) , Dartmouth & Ralph (Lynn) Nieforth ,Sidney,B.C. as well as grandchildren Brenda, Linda, Blair and step grandchildren Trevor, Sharma, Deanna & Michelle as well as several great grandchildren and great step grandchildren, one niece and three nephews.
Alice was predeceased by her three husbands Phonse Flynn, Harvey Saltzman and Theodore « Ted » Nieforth, sisters Jessie & Catherine, brother Donald, son Alex, stepson Gordon and grandson in law Darren. Alice spent the last ten years at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home where she received excellent care and attention.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful staff of the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home for all the years of comfort provided to Alice and all the special attention she received. We will never forget. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Paul Pluta and Dr. James Collins for
their compassionate care over the years.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 11.00 A.M. at St.Peter’s United Church, St.Peters N.S with Rev. Donna Lovelace officiating.
Reception to follow in the church hall. Burial in the Lakeside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers ,donation may be made to the Alheimzer Association or charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
