Obituary for Alexandra Christina Taryn Verkerk
Alexandra Christina Taryn was born January 28th, 2018 into the arms of the world’s luckiest parents, Tyler Verkerk and Elizabeth Green. She was instantly beloved and celebrated by her big sister, Eleanor. Alex had a beautiful, peaceful soul. She gave the best cuddles, had the softest cheeks, and the most expressive lip. She adored Ellie and gazed in wonder at the loving, excited chatter of her sister. Alex brought love and light to all the lives she touched. Alexandra died April 2nd, 2018 at the Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids) in Toronto.
Alex is beloved by her family: Grandparents Douglas Green (Mayo Underwood), Andrea Mossop (Doug Blair), Barb and Dave Haynes, and Jim Verkerk (Cathy); Aunts and Uncles Christina Buchan (Gavin), Jennifer Green (Arda Ilgazli), Robert Green (Meghan), Tiffany Murray (Kevin) and Taryn Kristalovich (TJ); Cousins Fiona, Avery, Clayton, and Porter. She is also survived by great-grandparents Christina Green, Ted Quelch (Nada), and Sylvia Haynes, and a large and loving extended clan of family and friends who adored her.
A celebration of Alexandra’s life will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Oak Leaf on Saturday, April 7th at 11 am followed by internment at Holy Trinity Cemetery. The family welcomes everyone to a reception at the church hall at 12:30 pm.
Donations in her memory to the CHEO Foundation, Toronto Sick Kids Hospital, or The Ronald McDonald House will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
