It is with great sorrow that the family announces his sudden passing in Sudbury on Sunday, December 25th, 2016 at the age of 55 years. Son of the late Sylvestre and Georgette (née Desormiers) Rivard. Beloved husband of Suzanne Vachon. Loving father of Jeffrey Rivard (Elli MacDonnell). Cherished grandfather of Caleb Rivard. Dear brother of Suzanne Pleau (Émile Methé), Jeannette Legault (Robert), Hélène Desormeaux (Willy), Madeleine Zoldy (Richard), Michelle Rivard, Robert Rivard (Linda), Lise Surmenian (Ara), Patsy Brouillette (Robert) and Nicole Landry (John). Predeceased by his brother Gérard Rivard. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, on Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. followed by a service at 4 p.m. in the Chapel. Donations can be made by cheque or online to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
