Winnifred “Winnie” (Dick) Walsh
1928-2017
The family of Winnie Walsh, wife of the late Phillip Walsh,
announce her passing on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at her residence
in the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home Inc. Born September 8,
1928 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Ethel
(Bannister) Dick. Winnie was a life-long member of Trinity Anglican
Church and choir. She worked at Dominion and Village stores for 38
years.
Winnie is survived by her step-children: Phillip Walsh
(Carrie), whom she brought up from the age of 9, Becky Gould (Gary),
Mary Jane McGraw (Jean Marie), and Tom Walsh (Erline); grandchildren:
Shale, Kurtis, Jonathan (Amanda), Sara (Joe), and Scott (Amanda); her
goddaughter, Brenda Goodwin; and many special nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her
sisters: Grace and Helen; and her brothers: Kenneth, Ralph, Hazen,
Harold, and Bartlett.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on
Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm and Friday, January 27, 2017
from 10:30 to 11:30 am, with a funeral service to follow at 12 noon
from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in
Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Alzheimer Society or the
Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home Inc. would be appreciated by
