Wilma Lee Estey – 1957-2017

Wilma Lee Estey
1957-2017
The family of Wilma Lee Estey is saddened to announce her death. She
died peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Dr. Everett
Chalmers Hospital, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle of
multiple serious health issues. Born on August 26, 1957 in
Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of Julia (Morehouse) and the late
Ossie Estey.
Wilma was gifted with many skills. She enjoyed creating things and
decorating. She knit numerous items to which she donated to charity,
gave to family, friends and strangers — socks, sweaters, scarves,
ceramics, and numerous other items. She had a generous heart and she
will be remembered for her kindness. She enjoyed her flowers and
plants. She loved 4-wheeling, family get-togethers, and having people
around. She dearly loved her family and friends. When saying
good-byes, she would give a kiss and say “I love
you”.
Wilma was a member of the Zealand Seventh-day Adventist Church. She
loved her church family and enjoyed discussing Bible questions,
learning more about God’s unfailing love for each one of us. She
wanted to share His word and gave many people a Bible. Wilma has left
this world too soon, but she will not have to face any more suffering
with sickness.
In addition to her mother, Wilma is survived by her two daughters,
Eileen Lavoie (Robin) of Fredericton, NB and Nicole Mattatall (Chris)
of Millville, NB; grandchildren, Josie (Scott), Alex (Savannah),
Aadon, Ava Lee; sisters, Vera Irion (Frank), Gladys Brawn (Joe), Faye
Brawn (Allen), Julia Burtt, Penny Sharpe (Stephen); brother, Jack
Estey (Sheila); several nieces and nephews and many friends; her
children’s father, Ronald Lavoie.
In addition to her dad, Wilma was predeceased by her husband, Gary
Brewer; two sisters, Eileen and Mary; one brother, Vernon;
brother-in-law, Wayne Burtt.
In respect of Wilma’s wishes, there will be no Visitation or
Funeral Service. A Graveside Service will take place in the spring.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes
Association, to research for A1-AT, or to a charity of the
donor’s choice.
Special thank you to the staff of Palliative Care, Cardiac Care,
Emergency Room for the exceptional care provided to Wilma during her
many trips for blood transfusions and most recently her stay in
hospital. Special thank you to the Zealand SDA Church members for
their friendship and the many hours devoted to helping her in her time
of need.
Arrangements by Flewelling Funeral Home, Nackawic, NB.
