Obituary for William Ian “Bill” MacKenzie
William (Bill) Ian MacKenzie B. Pharm
Former Owner of White Cross Dispensary, Ottawa
Peacefully at Marianhill Residence, Pembroke on Saturday November 4, 2017 at the age of 87 years. Bill MacKenzie of Pembroke, beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth MacKenzie (nee Campbell). Loved and cherished father of William MacKenzie, Dundas ON, John MacKenzie, New York,NY, Alex MacKenzie (Laurie), Chelsea QC and Robert MacKenzie (Stephanie), Burlington ON. Sadly missed by 9 grandchildren. Dear brother of Mary Wade (late William). Son of the late William and Ellen (nee Beaumont) MacKenzie. Bill was born in London Ontario and raised in Forest Ontario. Bill graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1956 with a degree in Pharmacy which he practiced for many years. In retirement Bill volunteered for over 10 years at the Pembroke Regional Hospital. Bill was very proud of his Scottish Heritage. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Bill in First Presbyterian Church, Pembroke on Monday morning November 13, 2017 at 11 o’clock. The family will receive friends in the Church after 9:30 a.m. Interment Calvin Presbyterian Cemetery. In memory of Bill, donations to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
