Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Friday evening, January 13th, 2017. William George Childs, of Owen Sound, at the age of 87 years. Dearly loved husband of Lorraine Ross-Childs (nee Small) and the late Laura Childs (nee Lihou). Loving father of Carey Carrick and her husband, Tom, of Owen Sound, Monty Childs and his wife, Tracey, of Barrie, Mitch Childs and his wife, Ann, Kelly Danard and her husband Rick, Kim Hawke and her husband, Jeff, all of Owen Sound and step-father of Cheryl Slack and her husband, Mike, of Colorado. Proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Ross Childs and his wife, Helen, of Michigan. Predeceased by his parents, George and Evelyn Childs; his step-father, Ross; his sister, Margaret Kenwell and her husband, Russ.
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral for Bill Childs will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 865 – 2nd Avenue West, Owen Sound, on Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dana Benson and Father Michelle Childs-Ward officiating. Spring interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation, the Parkinson Society of Canada or the charity of your choice as an expression of sympathy.
