William (Bill) Thornton
1936-2016
The passing of William (Bill) Thornton,
husband of Caryl (Helpard) Thornton, occurred on December 6, 2016 at
the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Keswick Ridge in
1936, The eldest son of the late Frederick and Phyllis (Gilmore)
Thornton.
Survived by wife Caryl,
sons Beverley Thornton of Toronto and Gregory Thornton of British
Columbia, sisters Louise (Marty) Trail and Annette Roix, and one
granddaughter Michelle. Predeceased by brother Edward Thornton,
sister Barbara Forrest, and grandson Damien
Thornton.
A local businessman and race-horse
owner for many years, Bill was very active with the Fredericton
Exhibition, having served as President and past President, he was
still on the Board of Directors at his time of passing. Greatly missed
by family and
friends.
Although there will
be no formal funeral service, the family will receive friends and
visitors on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 1-3 PM only at Bishops
Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road.
For those who wish, in lieu of
flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of the
