Wilfred ”Bev” Beaven

Bathurst – Wilfred “Bev”
Beaven, husband of Joyce (Chamberlain) Beaven, formerly of Murray Ave,
passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Chaleur Regional
Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of
87.
Born in Watertown, NY, he was the son of
the late Sherman Beaven and Annie (Barwick) Beaven.
Wilfred began his career with Bathurst
Power and Paper. He remained there through many company name
changes until retiring from Smurfit Stone after 44 years.
Wilfred was involved in his community through his life. He
was involved in minor hockey, little league baseball and cub
Scouts. An avid skater, walker and cross country skier,
Wilfred enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of the Lodge
St. John, No.27, F&AM of the Masonic
Order.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two
children: David (Connie) Beaven of Nackawic and Lois Beaven of
Bathurst. As well as a brother, Bruce Beaven of Hamilton,
ON.
Wilfred was predeceased by a son,
Douglas; a sister Thelma Owen, and two brothers: Gordon and
Ernest.
The family would like to thank the staff
of the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes and the Chaleur Regional Hospital
for the excellent care he received in his time
there.
The family will receive relatives and
friends on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Elhatton’s
Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral service will be held on
Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2 pm from the First United Church, with a
reception to follow.
The family requests donations to the
First United Church or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in memory of
Wilfred.
