Weldon Reginald Reg Webber – 2017

2017
Weldon Reginald “Reg” Webber
Weldon Reginald “Reg” Webber, 91, of Moncton,
passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, November
8, 2017. Born in Dartmouth, NS, he was the son of the late John and
Golda (Conrad) Webber.
Reg was a Radio Operator, starting his 37 year career in 1948
in Table Mountain, NL. He then moved to Shearwater, NS and back to
Newfoundland. In 1961, Reg came to Moncton, where he worked as an Air
Traffic Control Assistant at The Moncton Airport, as well as the Air
Traffic Control Centre in Riverview, from where he retired in
1985.
He was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church,
the Beausejour Curling Club, where he was very involved in active
fundraising efforts. Reg enjoyed curling, golf, hunting, fishing,
playing cards and watching hockey and baseball. He and his fun-loving
nature could often be found on Monday nights playing cards at the
curling club. All of Reg’s family and friends can attest to
his humorous personality and infectious laugh.
Reg will be sadly missed by his daughters, Linda Webber and
Tami McKay (Jim), both of Moncton; granddaughters, Lindsay West
(Chris) of Moncton and Kelsey McKay (Kevin) of Saint John; great
granddaughter, Hadley Grace; brother, Cyril Webber (Geraldine), of
Dartmouth, NS; sisters-in-law, Audrey MacDougall (late Mel), Margaret
Dyke (late Rae), Bernice Ridgley, Ruth Ridgley and Joyce Ridgley;
nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife,
Evelyn D. (Ridgley) Webber (April 2007); brother, Don and his wife,
Hazel and brothers-in-law, Jim, Launce and Rex Ridgley.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm,
followed immediately by a service to celebrate and honour
Weldon’s life at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm
with The Reverend Chris VanBuskirk officiating. Reception in
