Obituary for Wayne Melton
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Fiddicks Nursing Home, Petrolia. Wayne George Kenneth Melton, formerly of Oil Springs, was in his 83rd year. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Peggy (nee Hull). He will be missed by his children Susan and Scott Dunlop and Murray and Karen Melton, his grandchildren Erin and Brent Campbell, Andrew and Nicole Dunlop, Nicole Melton, Brittany Melton, and Erik Melton, and great grandchildren, Kaelynn, Ethan, and Liam Campbell, and Miller and Jameson Dunlop. Wayne was predeceased by his parents George and Alice (nee Poland) Melton. He is also survived by his sisters Lorna (the late Bob) Huggett, Leone (Jim) Annett, and Clara (the late Horst) Hirt. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Norma (the late Bert) Simpson and Agnes (the late Park) Cameron and is predeceased by his brother-in-law Ted (Cathy(Dick Cieslar)) Hull. He is also an uncle to many nieces and nephews. Wayne was the owner of Mid-County Ford for 40 years and was active in the Alexandra-Inwood Lodge #158 and Britannia O.E.S. #34. Visitors will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment in Oil Springs Cemetery. On Tuesday Britannia O.E.S. #34 will hold a memorial service 6:30 pm and Alexandra-Inwood Lodge #158 will follow at 6:45pm. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made Shriners Hospital for Children (www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org) or Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton (www.alzheimer.ca/sarnialambton).
