Never one to brag or have ill will toward others, Bud the youngest son of George and Eva Wilk passed away on April 6, 2017.
He is predeceased by 7 siblings Alec, Mary, Fred, John, George, Henry and Stephen. Also predeceased by daughter Kathryn (Kathy).
Bud is survived by his wife Dorothy (nee Erben), son Kenneth (Ken) wife Nancy (nee Thurston); grandsons Christopher Stewardson (Meghan) of Toronto, Kraig Stewardson (Jennifer) of St. Paul, Minnesota, Kenneth Jr. (Heather) of Lakeside, Arizona; granddaughter Mary Elizabeth (John) of Scottsdale, Arizona as well as 5 soon to be 6 great-grandchildren.

Bud was from a farming background in Ridgedale, Saskatchewan. He took Agriculture Science Technology at the University of Saskatchewan and farmed until 1957 where he met and married Dorothy and had 2 children, Ken and Kathy. After moving to Alberta Bud owned a jewelry store, worked as a sales rep for the Independent Order of Foresters and as the Manager of the Rosebud Seed Plant. They then moved to Regina in 1968, Bud finished his work days as a Sales Rep for Federal Grain, and was employed by Sask Wheat Pool and Regina Public School Board. In 2005 Bud and Dorothy moved to Winnipeg. Throughout his life Bud has had many accomplishments he was proud of but would never brag.
His loving wife Dorothy stood by him for the past 67 years, also his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved and admired him. Bud was also proud of his lifelong involvement in the Lions Club of Rosebud, Alberta, Regina and Winnipeg for which he was granted an honory lifetime membership and achievement award, an eight ender Corby Cup, numerous fishing outings and time spent travelling with Dorothy. Bud also cherished times spent with family and grandchildren at the family cottage at Lake Katepwa in Qu’Appelle Valley, Saskatchewan.
The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of Lions Place and Lions Club members for their support and friendships.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, 641 St. Matthews Avenue with a reception to follow. A celebration of life and interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
