Life Legacy
FASS, Walter – After a life well lived, on Thursday, November 16, 2017, in his 93rd year, Walter moved on to his next great adventure. He leaves behind, his loving children Dianne Miller (John), Alexandra (Cindy) Sheridan (Roy), and his dear friend Hilda Corkum. Predeceased by his wife Anna and brother Tony and will be sadly missed by his brother Alfred, and sisters Mary, Alice, and many other close friends and relatives. Walter was proud of his service as a Signalman in the Canadian Army during WWII and until 1947. He retired in 1979 after many years of service at Canada Customs. In his later years, Walter participated and took great pleasure in his Tai Chi and Canadian Heritage Seeker’s Clubs and he loved to travel. Remembered as a quiet and caring man, but very proud and independent, Walter was active and busy and passed away suddenly after a brief hospital stay. Many thanks for the kindness and care he received from the nurses and doctors at the Niagara General Hospital in Unit C and in the ICU. Cremation has already taken place, and there will be no formal service, but a Celebration of his life will be held at Patterson Funeral Home 6062 Main St., Niagara Falls, Ontario on November 28, 2017 from 3 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Project Share Niagara, Heartland Forest, or Heart and Stroke Niagara.
