With sad hearts, the family of William
Leonard Armstrong of Fredericton announce his passing on Saturday,
February 4, 2017 at Hospice House, Fredericton. He was 83. Born in
Chipman, NB on February 13, 1933, he was a son of the late William M.
and Annie S. (Austin)
Armstrong.
Leonard attended Sunset Church,
Fredericton, and was a much loved and respected Custodian with the
Fredericton School District for many years. He was an avid
reader.
Leonard leaves behind his loving and
devoted wife of 55 years, Gail A. (Kent) Armstrong; his three
children, Gregory Armstrong, Krista Foster, and Philip Armstrong
(Elva) all of Fredericton. His nine grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren will miss Grampy dearly. Leonard is also survived
by a sister, Kaye O’Leary of Fredericton as well as several
nieces and nephews. Besides his
parents, an infant son Timothy and siblings Walter and Marguerite
predeceased him.
Visitation for Leonard will be held at
Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on
Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 12 Noon to 1:45 PM followed by a
funeral service from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM
with Rev. Greg Pyne officiating. Interment in the Sunny Bank Cemetery,
Fredericton, later. Memorials to a favorite charity of the
donor’s choice would be appreciated by the
family.
The family wish to thank the nurses and staff of 4SE
at the DECH and the nurses and staff of Hospice Fredericton,
especially Nurse Britanie, for the love and care shown not only to
Leonard but also to the family. Your kindness will never be
forgotten.
