Obituary for Verne Sheridan
SHERIDAN, Verne Stewart – In his 98th year, passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, with his family by his side on Friday, September 8, 2017. Verne is survived by his beloved wife Eleanor (nee Curl), his brother Don (Joanne) and his 6 children Verna, Lloyd (Jo-Ann), John (Linda), Audrey, George (Gail) and Valerie (Kevin), 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Verne is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Sadie and his brothers, Francis and Jim. Verne was born in Newmarket in 1920, worked most of his life as a Tinsmith in Aurora at North York Plumbing and Heating, while enjoying the rural life on the family farm. He retired to a home in Gormley in 1978, moved to Bogart Mill Trail for 11 years and most recently lived at Alexander Muir Retirement Home since 2016. Visitation will take place at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Pine Orchard Friend’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Orchard Cemetery, Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
