It is with great sorrow that the family of Verne Gottinger announces his peaceful passing with his family present on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 77 years of age.
Verne was born on September 21, 1939 in Duff, SK. Verne was a devoted husband, dad and poppa to all his family. He led them all through many adventures fishing, hunting, hiking, snowmobiling and countless treasured summers at their lake property. In everything he did, it was clear that Verne lived by his golden rule of “family first and always”.
Verne is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Caroline, his three daughters Tracey (Putz), Lori (Mike) and Patti (Gerald), six grandchildren Kendall (Jeff), Kirsten (Steve), Logan, Quinn, Lucas and Max, and two great grandchildren Meia and Keira, his sisters Bernice, Terri (Carl) and Jean and many loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Verne will be held at Christ Church Anglican (46 – 13th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2V3) at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 7, 2017.
Memorial donations in honour of Verne can be made to the: Christ Church Memorial Fund or the Kootenay Wildlife Heritage Fund.
