Obituary for Vera Kotowich
Vera Kotowich (Prychun), age 90, of Brandon, Manitoba, passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Vera was born April 23, 1926 in Tyndall, Manitoba where she was raised and schooled. She graduated with a teaching certificate in Winnipeg. Vera moved to Brandon, Manitoba in 1974 and retired from the teaching profession in Brandon. Vera leaves to cherish her memory, the love of her life, husband Matt, sons Steven (Budnarchuk) and Donald (Budnarchuk) and one brother Borden Prychun. She was predeceased by her mother Katherine and father Nicholas as well as siblings Julie, Helen, Peter, Anne, Myron. Vera was a Wife, a Mother, a Grandma, and a Great Grandma and took great delight in meeting her great grandchildren. Vera will always be remembered for her youthful outlook of life. She loved the outdoors and particularly loved their acreage in Brandon. We will forever see her taking great delight in tobogganing down the hills of the acreage with her grandchildren. A gentle soul, she always insisted the birds and deer were looked after. She will also be remembered for her cooking…both traditional Ukrainian as well as introducing ‘new’ dishes. A private family graveside service will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vera’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #3-2430 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba, R7B 0M5 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 – 1st Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2W8.
