In Loving Memory
Vera Lorraine Morgan
(nee Barnes) was born on November 26, 1925 to Harry Taylor Barnes & Eunice Barnes (nee Price) in Cilfyndd, Pontypridd, Glam S Wales.
Vera first met her love Peter 76 years ago at the age of 16. A number of years later they were married and enjoyed 55 wonderful years together as life partners and best friends.
Having listened to God’s calling in February 1972 they moved to Canada, and lived in Weston where Peter continued his career in sales. From there they moved to Streetsville and purchased their first home in Canada.
They became very active in ministry within the local church and also served to raise funds for Kamp Kuriou to help children enjoy the summer camp experience. God was preparing them for greater ministry as they demonstrated their faithfulness to God in smaller but very significant areas.
In 1975 Peter became an Assistant Pastor at Christian Centre in Downsview where they served in ministry with Dr Alex Ness. In 1980 they moved to Brampton and BCF was birthed. The first service was held at John Knox Christian School in June of that year. The property at 11613 Bramalea Rd was purchased in 80/81 and construction began in June 1983. The church was opened and they faithfully loved and served the people here until they retired in 2006.
Predeceased by her loving husband Peter, Parents, Sister -Beryl Mary Taylor Barnes, Brother – Cecil John Barnes & Sister in Law Margaret Barnes.
Left with fond memories are her bonus children Brian & Angela Manuel, Step Daughter Susan & husband Kenny Smith in Wales and Granddaughter Zoe Smith.
Sisters in Law Joyce Morgan -Victoria, BC and Malvene Davies – Ponty Pridd, Wales.
Nephew – Stephen Barnes (Vivien), Niece – Lesley Barnes, Bonus Neice – Brianne Manuel, Great nephew & nieces- Kate, Caroline, Peter, Julia and Christopher. As well as numerous great great nephews & nieces, cousins and cousins in law.
Neices in law Michelle Leyshon of Kincardin, Ontario, Judith Legare of Florida along with numerous great nephews & nieces.
