Valorie McCracken 23 avril 1952 – 12 mai 2017

Valorie was born in Swift Current, SK to Arnold and Esther Gerl on April 23, 1952 and passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Swift Current Clover House after a brief battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by her mother Esther Andres; father Arnold Gerl; and sisters Dianne Kind and Carol Gerl.
Valorie is survived by her husband Ed McCracken; children Michael (Melissa) McLachlan, Trevor (Jessica) McLachlan, Kevin McCracken and Anita (Lee) McCracken; grandchildren Dylan, Kaitlyn, Jaliesa, Pierce, Cobey and Kaycee; brothers Larry (Gloria) Gerl and Dale (Rhonda) Gerl; sisters Judy (Gary) Isaman and Sandra (George) Gamerschlag; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Valorie started school at Morse and then attended Herbert school. She completed grade 11 at Beattie and graduated grade 12 at the Swift Current Comp.
Valorie always had a love of flowers and had many beautiful flower gardens over the years. She was also the family historian, loving to delve into family records.
Valorie met Ed McCracken on December 18, 1989 and they were married August 1, 1995. Together they enjoyed taking care of their yard, antique hunting and many vacations through Canada and the U.S.
Valorie worked for Shopper’s Drug Mart for nearly 25 years, both in Regina and Swift Current. She enjoyed many close friendships with staff and customers.
During her final few years, Valorie began studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was especially fond of the hope of a resurrection, where she would be able to live forever on a paradise earth, surrounded by friends and family.
A CELEBRATION OF VALORIE’S LIFE has been held in Swift Current.
