Uta A. Rattray-Hanscom
1925-2017
The death of Uta Annie (Elliott) Rattray-Hanscom of Lakeville occurred
on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Upper River Valley Hospital,
Waterville. Born April 21, 1925 in Wapske she was the daughter of the
late Karl and Phoebe (Boreland) Elliott -Turner. She was also
predeceased by her first husband, Ronald Rattray; her second husband,
Winfred Hanscom; 1 son Wayne Rattray; 1 daughter, Brenda DeMerchant; 2
sons in law, Charles Upton and Eugene Ogden; 2 sisters, Minnie
(Murray) Paris and Dorothy (Ernest) Pryor; 2 brothers, Ronald (Bessie)
Elliott and Ivan Elliott; 1 half brother, Paul Elliott.
Uta is survived by her 6 children Carolyn Upton of Lakeville, Gordon
Rattray (Lanah) of Hillsborough, Lois Kirkbride (Bob) of Rusagonis,
Carl Rattray (Sheila) of Lakeville, Tony Rattray of Lakeville and
Cindy Graham (Ivan) of Good Corner; daughter in law, Sandra Rattray of
Lakeville ; son in law, Terry DeMerchant of Centreville; 14
grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren;
half sister, Hope Piers of Fredericton; 5 half brothers, Bill Elliott
of Plaster Rock, Gerald Elliott of Plaster Rock, Richard Elliott of
Lower Kintore, Chester Elliott and Arthur Elliott both of British
Columbia; 2 sisters in law, Ruth Elliott of Centreville and Doris
Elliott of Plaster Rock as well as many nieces, nephews and extended
family.
Uta was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207
Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from
4-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at
2:00 pm from the L. R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev Mary Taylor will
officiate. Interment will be in the Williamstown Cemetery. Donations
made to the Williamstown Cemetery Fund or St. Paul’s United
Church, Centreville would be appreciated.
