1984-2017
Obituary for Tracey Lynn Booth
It is with great sadness that the family announces the
untimely passing of Tracey Lynn Booth, 33, formerly of Sydney, N.S.
Tracey left us peacefully with her loving family by her side on
November 1, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer while living
in Edmonton, Alberta.
Tracey grew up in Sydney where she attended school from
grades primary through twelve and was a passionate and devoted team
member in competitive cheerleading and dance. She graduated
from Riverview High School in 2002, and pursued studies at CBU and
NSCC. Tracey worked at Kenny’s Pizza and the Bonnie Prince
in Sydney.
In 2013, Tracey met the love of her life, David Connors; she
soon after moved to Edmonton to begin a life together.
David’s wonderful friends welcomed Tracey to Alberta with
open arms, and quickly became the warmth that made her feel at
home.
Tracey was a loving daughter to “the momma bear”
Denise Collins Booth. There was no question, that Tracey’s
love for her family and friends brought her the most joy in her life.
Her love and devotion to her loved ones was boundless. When she met
Dave, she not only gained a loving partner, she also gained another
loving family. There was a special place in her heart for
Dave’s parents. Wendell, who lovingly teased her
relentlessly, and Tina, who Tracey loved dearly. She loved all the
Connors family as she did her own.
Tracey is survived by her Partner, David Connors, Mother,
Denise (Ray) Collins Booth, God mother, Lynn Bond
MacEachern, God father, Mario Tarso, Uncle Bill (Nancy) Booth, Aunt
Susan (Troy) Booth, Uncle Gary (Debbie) Collins, Uncle Corky
(Ruthanne) Collins, Uncle Alonzo (Sandra) Collins, Aunt Cindy (Paul)
Hawkins, Aunt Lisa Gittens. and many cousins. Tracey will be greatly
missed by Ray Rae, Amanda, Crystal, Jenna, and countless other
wonderful friends. Tracey was predeceased by her father, Bobby Booth,
also Paternal grandparents, Bob and Barbara Booth, maternal
grandparents, Albert and Alice Collins, Aunt Cathy Booth, and Uncle
Roger Roper.
Special thanks to Uncle Bill Booth for being
Tracey’s support person and medical guide through her
difficult road. Special thanks to Tracey’s dear friend,
Leanne Connors, who helped so much, and was by Tracey’s side
during her illness. Many thanks to the Koziel family and to all those
who participated in Team Tracey.
Tracey’s sparkling personality had a whimsical
charisma and her fascination with Harry Potter inspired her to collect
every Harry Potter book series and memorabilia. Her eyes
were windows to a beautiful soul and her laughter would warm even the
coldest of days. Tracy leaves us rich in memories; we are truly
blessed to have had her loyalty, kindness, generosity, and witty sense
of humor in our lives. Know that when the sun is setting on
the Mira River, Tracey is shining her light and warming our souls
– her beautiful genuine spirit will live on in our hearts
forever from coast to coast.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held
on Thursday, November 8th 2-4, and 7-9, at
Sydney Memorial Chapel (Weatherbee’s). In memory of
Tracey’s “Sparkle”, we encourage everyone to dress
colorful. A Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima
Church, Kings Road, Sydney River on Friday, November
9th at 11 am, with Rev. Duaine Devereaux
officiating. Interment of ashes to follow at St. Anne’s
Cemetery, Wallace Road, Glace Bay, NS.
A benefit dance in support of Tracey’s family is
being held on Saturday, November 18th
at the Curling Club, George St., Sydney from 7 –

Tracey.
