it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rand at his home in Calgary on Friday, March 10, 2017.
Rand is lovingly remembered by Nikki, his partner of 30 years; sisters, Jane (Ed), Lorraine, Elizabeth, and Heather; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Rand will be remembered for his gentle nature, soft spoken manner and his great love of music, especially his extensive vinyl collection. Rand will also be remembered for his love for his cats, CJ and Thunder, who he affectionately referred to as the Terrorist.
When Rand first came to Calgary in 1975 he was employed by Cominco, until it closed its Calgary operation. He then was employed by the Calgary Stampede Board for 27 years, retiring in November of 2015.
A Celebration of Rand’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #285 (9202 Horton Road SW). Date of Service to be Confirmed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Diabetes Foundation, or the Kidney Foundation..
