Theodore Kovachis – 1925 – 2017

Life Story for Theodore Kovachis
The youngest of 8 children, Theodore Kovachis was born in Vatohori, Greece on June 25, 1925. Theodore came to Toronto, Canada in 1951, where he met and married the woman he loved until his dying day, Pepi Repatsis. Ted and Pepi made their life together in Toronto. They both worked hard, bought a home, and after seven years of marriage, they were blessed with the birth of their only daughter, Lillian.
Theodor’s family meant everything to him and he provided for them the best way he knew how. He instilled in his daughter, Lillian, the love of learning and the belief that she could do anything. Theodore faced many challenges in his life and he faced them with strength and courage. Though he had many happy moments in his life, the happiest of all was the birth of his three grandchildren – Philip, Maria and Theodor.
Wherever Ted went, he was sure to make those around him smile and laugh. A lifelong cook, he was always able to offer recipe advice. One of his favorite pastimes with his grandchildren was to visit with them over lunch or in his garden. As he needed more assistance, he moved into Houses of Providence, where he was popular among the residents and caregivers alike. He will be greatly missed by all those he leaves behind and whose lives he touched. He will be especially missed by his family, Lillian and Chris, Philip and Anya, Maria and Steven, and Theodor, his namesake.
