Obituary for Thelma Anne Benjamin
Thelma Anne Benjamin (Langille) – 88, Truro, passed away peacefully Friday, December 1, 2017 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Thelma was born in New Annan, Nova Scotia and was the daughter of the late Harry and Jean (Murray) Langille. Thelma will be remembered by many from her long career as an elementary school teacher. She had a love of travel throughout her life and excelled in quilting, cross-stitch and other crafts. She and her husband Willis liked nothing better than going to old time dances. Thelma is survived by her children David (Gwen) and Craig (Heather); her grandchildren Andrew, Matthew and Owen; her brother Elmon Langille, and her sisters Carrie Matheson, and Reta Keizer, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Willis, by her sister Marie, her sister-in-law Florence, and her brothers-in-law Vernon, Jim and Murray. The family is grateful to the doctors and nurses of the CEHHC who provided such excellent care and exceptional kindness. The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 8 from 1pm until time of the Memorial Service at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Morley Bentley officiating. Reception will follow. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colchester East Hants Health Centre or to the Canadian Red Cross.
