Christena ‘Tena’ Alderson
Big Bras d’Or
On August 5, 2017 Tena Alderson, loving wife to Daniel ‘Danny’ LeBlanc and mother to Tyler (Sophie) and Nicole (Frazer) LeBlanc, passed away surrounded by family at home in Big Bras d’Or.
A wonderful and devoted mother, and recent grandmother, she dedicated her life to her children, husband and family. She loved the outdoors and was always one to help someone in need.
Growing up in Little Bras d’Or, Tena met Danny at his birthday party and they then spent the following 42 years by each other’s side. Tena and Danny raised two wonderful children, Tyler and Nicole and they recently became grandparents to Hunter Vincent Taylor Noteworthy on August 3, 2017.
Born in Sydney Mines on December 24, 1956, daughter of Mary Jenkins, and survived by sisters, Louise (Bill), Debbie (Tommy); brothers, Glen (Sherry), Lester (Linda) and Arnold, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Maurice (Christina), Cathy (Maurice), Frankie (Ona), Lewis (Dawn), Donnie (Janet), Art (Linda), Patricia, Gary (Debbie), Theresa (Roy).
Tena was predeceased by loving father in-law, Maurice (Lorraine); brother in-law, Darren, and sister-in-law, Tina (John).
Tena was the niece of Donna (Jimmy) Brown, a caring aunt to her nephews and nieces, and a loyal friend to Betty LeBlanc, Elaine Harrietha, Gordon Clark and many others.
Cremation is taking place, and a celebration of Tena’s life will be held Wednesday August 9, 2017 at St Joseph’s Church, Bras d’Or at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating.
Instead of flowers the family have asked for donations to be made to Stollery Children’s Hospital at www.secure.stollerykids.com.
