Sylvia Corrine Jacobson of the Woodstock First Nation was born on April 30, 1935 to Patrick and Mary Ann Polchies. She peacefully passed away at the Upper River Valley Hospital on November 25, 2017 at the age of 82.

Sylvia resided on Woodstock First Nation until the age of 19 when she met her husband Albert Leroy Jacobson. They were married January 26, 1955. She moved frequently to follow the love of her life, Albert, while he was in the U.S. Airforce. Sylvia dedicated her life to raising 5 children, Douglas Jacobson, Phyllis Albright (Edward A.), Arthur Jacobson, Darrell Jacobson, and Roger Jacobson (Veronica N.). She had 7 grandchildren, Christine Beltran (Isaac B.), Mike Bartlett (Deedee B.), Christopher Albright, Steven Albright, Jean-Michael Jacobson, Chris Nicholas (Frances N.), Paul Nicholas (Michelle N.) and 12 great grandchildren, Izabella and Asher Beltran, Dylan, Kassidy and Sylvie Bartlett, Ethan and Emma Nicholas, Dakota, Riley, Ashton and Peyton Nicholas, and Eila Boudreau.

Predeceased by parents Patrick and Mary Ann Polchies, and siblings Corrine Polchies, Kenny Polchies, Clark Polchies, and Pauline Polchies. Survived by her sister Mona Lutz and brothers Wallace (Carole P.) and Brian Polchies (Lorraine P.), her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Sylvia loved spending time with her family and friends. In her younger days she enjoyed playing softball, bowling, camping and loved rollerskating. She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports, watching the Cubs play baseball and watching numerous daytime television and game shows. She also liked doing crafts, especially knitting and playing bingo. In 2000 they moved back to her home community of Woodstock First Nation to live out the rest of her life.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm from St. Gertrude’s Church, Woodstock, NB. If so desired, donations can be made to the IWK. The Culberson Funeral Home 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, NB in care of arrangements. es They bowed before the humble Prince of Peace
