Smith: Susan Lorraine
Passed away peacefully into glory with her family by her side, at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Friday February 10th 2017 at the age of 69 years. Susan Smith (nee Clerk), beloved wife of Bryan Kent Smith of 49 years. Adoring mother of Bradley Smith (Jennifer) of Edmonton and Ali Giffen (Keith) of Orillia. Devoted and loving Grammie of Jackson and Alexandra. Dear sister of Audrey Donaldson (Bevan), Patricia Dowling (Jeff) and Jim Clerk (Dorothy). She will be forever missed by many dear friends and extended family members.
Now the day is over, night is drawing nigh,
Shadows of the evening steal across the sky.
Jesus, give the weary calm and sweet repose;
With thy tenderest blessing, may our eyelids close.
Through the ling night-watches, may thine angels spread,
Their white wings above us, watching round each bed.
When the morning wakens, then may I arise,
Pure and fresh and sinless, in Thy holy eyes.
Glory to the Father, Glory to the Son,
And to Thee, blest Spirit, Whilst all ages run. Amen.
A special thank you to the doctors and devoted nursing staff at RVH and Soldiers Memorial for your care and compassion over these past few months.
A service to celebrate and remember Susan’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home- 38 James Street E. Orillia on Saturday February 18th, at 1 p.m. A reception and time of visitation will follow.
