MANSFIELD, Steven Eugene, 50, of Caledonia, Queens County, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, December 29th, 2016. Born in Liverpool on May 14th 1966. He was the son of the late LeRoy Elder and Maxine Marie (Croft) Mansfield.
Steven was a hard-working man. He worked at NF Douglas’ Lumber Ltd. (formerly Caledonia Woodworkers) for 25 years. The last 9 years he has been working for TBG Contracting Ltd. in Fort MacMurray Alberta. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; as he would say, “the land is my grocery store.” He was a loving, caring person with an incredible heart, a good sense of humour and an infectious laugh. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in any way possible. He was a person you could depend on.
Family was very important to Steven. He was especially proud of his two daughters, Marissa and Katelyn. Marissa is currently working as a care counsellor at Riverview Enhanced Living in Bridgewater, and Katelyn is studying to become a Speech Language Pathologist at McGill University in Montreal, QC.
Steven is survived by his loving wife Cheryl; daughters Katelyn and Marissa. Brothers; James (Lori) of Wainwright AB, Gary (Suanne) of Port Bickerton NS, and Terry of Elkford, BC. Mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law Beryl Selig and Hubert Wareham. He also had several brother and sister-in-laws and neices and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Maxine and LeRoy. Sister Tammy; and infant niece Myra. Also, predeceased by several aunts and uncles.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). A Graveside Service will be held on January 3, 2017 at 11:30 am in the Harmony Cemetery, Caledonia, NS. Reception will follow in the Community Firehall. Memorial donations may be made to the North Queens Nursing Home or North Queens Fire Dept.
