Stephani “Stevie” Piekarski
1928-2017
Stephani Piekarski, age 89, surrounded by family, passed away
peacefully on December 25th. Born in Bradley, ON on October
29, 1928 she was a daughter of the late John and Maria (Kozlo) Kolom.
Her career included working as a realtor, and at Saint
Joseph’s Hospital. She spent many years as a volunteer with
the YWCA that included YWCA President.
Stevie is survived by her children: Jeffrey (Lise) Piekarski,
and Scott (Sandra) Piekarski of Rothesay; her older sister Silvia and
granddaughters Tasha, Lia, Sidney and Sam. In addition to her parents,
she was predeceased by her first husband William Piekarski of 48
years. She was lucky in love again with her second husband, Raymond
Wilson (deceased).
Stevie
loved a competitive game of golf, curling or Bridge. She was
lucky to travel the world and always had the latest crossword puzzle
and good book waiting to be completed. She loved and
cherished her four granddaughters where she shared her Ukrainian
heritage of painting Easter eggs and making the best cabbage rolls at
Christmas.
Arrangements are under
the care and direction of Brenan’s
Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John,
NB (634-7424). Keeping with Stevie’s
wishes there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held
from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 29,
2017 at 2:00 PM. For
those who wish, remembrances in memory of Stevie may be made to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or a charity of one’s
choice.
