There once was a baba, who had a garden. She loved her garden and flowers as she loved her family and it surrounded her with love, life, hope, happiness and strength. Year after year, the baba and her garden were there producing love, life, hope, strength and happiness. We dearly miss baba and her garden.
On December 4, 2017 Mrs. Sonia Gilday passed away at the age of 89. She will be dearly missed by her sons: Patrick, Michael (Carol), Daryl (Sandra), Floyd; one daughter Debra (Bob) Hayward; her nine grandchildren; her ten great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
Sonia was predeceased by her husband John in 2006; an infant sister named Barbara in 1938; her sister Doris in 1966; her son Jackie in 1969; her father John Kulyk 1989; as well as her mother Martha Kulyk in 1995.
Those who knew her will remember baba in her garden and may her memory be eternal.
A Prayer Service will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton. (Access via 153 Avenue). A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. also at Evergreen Funeral Home. Following the service Sonia will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Sonia.
