Sister Adeline Ryan (Sister St. Brendan), a Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke ON, died in Pembroke on the 11th day of August, 2017 in the 78th year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community, nephews, Michael and Douglas Hart, other relatives and many friends.. She was predeceased by her parents, James Henry and Agatha (McGaghran), her sister Anne Hart and her brothers, Gerald and James. Sister Adeline was born in Cobden on January 10th, 1922. She entered the Community on September 5th, 1939, pronouncing her final vows on August 31st, 1944. Her ministry of teaching led her to schools in Vanier, Timmins, Ottawa and Sault Ste. Marie. She served as teaching Principal at St. Brigid’s, Ottawa, St. Anne’s and St. Thomas in Sault Ste. Marie, and as full-time Principal at Holy Rosary, Ottawa, In retirement, she was employed by the Ottawa Ecclesiastical Tribunal, as auditor for the Pembroke Diocese, a position she held for many years. In 2006, she moved to Caritas Residence, Pembroke. Her final years were lived peacefully at Shalom Residence. Visitation at Caritas Residence Chapel, 215 Deacon Street, Pembroke on Tuesday, August 15th, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. in the Caritas Residence Chapel. Interment in St. Columba’s Cemetery. Arrangements in care of the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Pembroke.
