PENNY, Simon Augusta (Tim)
The family of Tim Penny is saddened to announce his passing at Winston
Park LTC on Saturday February 11th 2017. Simon was born on October
2nd, 1932 in Sydney Mines, Black Point, Nova Scotia. He was
predeceased by his wife Mary (Lynk), in 1995.
Left to mourn are daughters Debra Drinkwater (Glenn), Elizabeth Penny
and son Michael Penny. Dad will be dearly missed by his grandchildren
Trevor (Beth), and Sara (Andrea), as well as great grandchildren:
Aiden, Leah and Tate Drinkwater.
Tim is the last of his family and was predeceased by his parents;
George Francis and Ellen Magdalene (Leblanc), sisters, Mary, Ellen,
Dora, Angie, Vera, Ann and brothers Jerome, John, Joseph (Owen) and
Isiah (Cy).
Tim was a printer by trade working at Kerr Progress Printing, as well
as owning Signal Antenna, which brought many people TV, in advance of
cable.
Dad was a proud Korean Veteran, a Life Member of the Royal Canadian
Legion -Branch 121, and the Korean Veteran’s Association. He was
also a past Commanding Officer of #296 RCAC Sqn. Cambridge.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stoke
Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18 at Corbett
Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St. N., Cambridge from 11 … 12:30,
followed by a legion service at 12:30 and a celebration of life at
1:00 p.m.
