Obituary of Sidney Zeldenrust
ZELDENRUST, Sidney (Sytze)
The Lord took unto himself His child Sidney, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton surrounded by family on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in his 83rd year. Born in Groningen, The Netherlands and emigrated to Canada in 1962. Beloved husband of Margaret (Meiske Venhuizen) for 53 years. Loving father of Yvonne Hessels (Ted), Joyce Sonneveld (John), Richard (Karen), and Edward. Cherished Opa of Wes (Nicole), Nicole (John), Trevor (Tianna), Ashley, Sandra (Phil), Timothy (Robyn), Samantha (Dylan), and Colton. Cherished great-Opa to Hailey, Noah and Karmyn. Predceased by his parents Nanning and Kinske (Sminia) Zeldenrust. Dear brother of Klaas (Henny) Zeldenrust, and Linda (Keith) Elzinga both of Ontario. Brother-in-law of Jantje † (Simon †), Gaaije (Aukine), Jannie † (Ceus †), Nanno (Marthy †), and Kornelius all of the Netherlands. Also sadly missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada and the Netherlands. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton. Friends will be received at BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME, 315 Broad St. E., Dunnnville on Tuesday, October 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will take place at Wellandport URC, 74082 Wellandport Road on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. Private burial at Melick Cemetery will precede service. Donations made in memory of Sidney to the Kidney Foundation would be graciously accepted.
