Obituary for Shirley Saunders (Martin)
Saunders; Shirley Joan (nee Martin) – She loved life and she LOVED family! It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Saunders announce her passing on Thursday, November 23rd at the age of 87 years. Shirley will be missed dearly by her husband of 68 years, Bob Saunders. They shared a special love that was an inspiration to all who knew them. She was a loving and most special mom and mom-in-law to Bob Saunders (Debbie) Stittsville, Brenda Hall (Andy) Richmond, and Lee Campbell (Rob) Kingston. She was loved and admired by her seven granddaughters; who all remember and cherish her fun loving nature: Kim Saunders, Keri Saunders, Andrea Glandon (Layne), Tracey Primeau (Kyle), Sarah Carter (Ross), Erica Simpson (Remy) and Stefanie Bourada (John). She was lovingly known as “Big” (Grandma) by 11 great grandchildren: Rebecca, Kyle, Matthew, Abby, Olivia, Evelyn, Quinn, Graham, Grady, Halle and Ellis – How we wish “Big” could watch them grow. The family would like to invite friends and family to join them in celebrating Shirley’s life with food and drinks from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Wartman Funeral Home – Kingston Chapel Reception Centre, 980 Collins Bay Road, Kingston. Aquamation has taken place. The family will conduct a burial at a later date at Dalhousie Lake where Shirley and Bob loved to spend their summers with family and friends. Friends and family wishing to make donations may make them payable to UHKF – Kingston Health Sciences Centre or to another charity of your choice. On-line condolences at www.wartmanfuneralhomes.com
