Gauvreau, Shirley Dennise Mary [Shallow] – With heavy hearts the family announces the death of Mrs Shirley Gauvreau at the age of 71 years. Shirley passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 1, 2017.
Shirley was born May 4, 1945 at Iroquois Falls to the late James Shallow and the late Isabelle Larivée. Shirley lived in Temagami for most of her life and enjoyed the great outdoors the town offered such as skiing, gardening, snowshoeing and polewalking. Shirley had also been an avid curler and a big fan of all curling.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband Gerald Gauvreau, her beloved daughter Tracy; and her siblings: Marlene Trottier, Isabelle Breton, Jacqueline Miller, Richard Shallow and Jimmy Shallow.. She will be sadly missed by her children: Shelly [and Jason Blais] Gauvreau of Temagami, Raymond [and Jenny] Gauvreau of Cochrane. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Jordan, Krista, Adam and Ashley; great-grandchildren: Olivia and Cassidy. Also survived by her siblings: Vivian [and Rick] Rusk, Donna Shallow, Gary [and Geraldine] Shallow, Mona Latour, Lucy [and Sege] Breton, Linda Shallow, David [and Alice] Shallow, Denis [and Peggy] Shallow; many nieces, nephews and friends.
The Gauvreau family will welcome friends at St Elizabeth Catholic Church – Temagami, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 beginning at 9:30am. Funeral mass will follow at St Elizabeth Catholic Church at 11:am. Father Tony Man-Son-Hing officiating. Interment will take place at Whispering Pines Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Lupus Foundation, The Arthritis Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation [cheques only] will be gratefully acknowledged.
