1933-2016
Shirley Wright of Lakeview Manor passed away on Wednesday,
December 7, 2016. Born in Upper Coverdale, she was the daughter of the
late Charles and Hattie (Lewis) Brown. She was a member of the Royal
Canadian Legion Hillsborough Branch Ladies Auxiliary. She was formerly
employed with Eaton’s Co., former owner, alongside her
husband, of Wright’s Superette, she also ran Hillsborough
Beauty Salon with her close friend Dorothy. Shirley is the last
surviving member of her immediate family.
Shirley was a very loving and kind person and had a
tremendous amount of love and care for her boys and their families.
Over the years she had a very close group of friends who spent many
occasions camping and weekends at their camp in Brookville. In her
later years, she had many outings, and will be sadly missed by her
dear friend, Vera Prosser.
She will be dearly missed by her sons, Brian (Joyce) of
Riverview, Gary (Janet) of Drayton Valley, AB, Derrick (Bev Crossman)
of Moncton and Alan (Angela) of Lower Coverdale; as well as
grandchildren, Kate, Allie, Kirk, Neal, Amy, Kevin and Madison.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Donald,
several brothers and sisters; her grandson, Jarret; and sister in law,
Marilyn Wright.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview, (869-2007) on Friday from 6-8pm. A funeral service will
take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on
Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00am with Rev. Elizabeth Wall
officiating. The interment will take place in Grey’s Island
Cemetery, Hillsborough, at a later date. Donations made to Lakeview
Manor would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences
