1937-2017
Shirley Allen of Riverview passed away
at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Born in
Moncton, she was the daughter of the late George and Marion (Hoar)
Beatty.
Shirley was a graduate of Moncton High
School and also studied at Oulton’s Business
College where she trained as a bookkeeper. She worked for
several local companies in the Moncton area including
International Harvester and, most recently, the Moncton Wesleyan
Church. Among many activities, she enjoyed swimming,
aerobics, and summer concerts in Caseley Park. She participated in the
Riverview Seniors’ Bowling League, Riverview Striders
Walking Club, and was a faithful member of the Tim Horton’s
and McDonald’s morning crowd.
Shirley will be dearly missed by her
loving children: Carolyn VanKampen of Hillsborough, Cheryl Lounder
(Michael) of Saint John and Eric Lounder of Dieppe; as well
as her cherished grandchildren: Ellen, Jane, Greg, Anne,
Chandler, Dana, Claire and Dean. Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by her brother Ronald.
A sincere thank you to the nurses and
staff of The Moncton Hospital, especially Dr. El Helou, Dr. Dodge, and
Dr. Aucoin. Your professionalism and genuine care was much
appreciated.
The family will be receiving relatives
and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330
Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Saturday from 2-4pm. A funeral
service will take place on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2:00pm at
Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Way
officiating. Donations in Shirley’s memory can be made to
Friends of The Moncton Hospital or Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB.
