At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB on
Sunday January 1, 2017, Shirley Burgess passed away at the age of 73.
Born in Fredericton, she was a daughter of the late Emery and Ina
(Curtis) Lounsbury. Shirley enjoyed gardening, as well as sewing and
crafts.
She deeply loved her family, and is survived by her husband
of over 30 years, Harvey; her children Rocky Bruce (Nancy) of Airdrie,
AB, Vicki Snow (Tim) of Airdrie, AB, Jackie Jackson (Mark) of Airdrie,
AB, April Firth (Joe) of Calgary, AB, Chrystal Firth of Calgary, AB;
grandchildren Cece, Greg, Nina, Cody, Skylor, Christopher, Lindsay,
Brandon, Kayla, Carlie and Tanner; ten great grandchildren; siblings
Edith Maillet, Zane Lounsbury and Patricia Lounsbury all of
Fredericton, Julie Skaling of Nackawic, NB; several nieces, nephews
and cousins and beloved friend Perry. She was also predeceased by an
infant son and her children’s fathers Lawrence Bruce and Bob
Firth.
By request, there will be no visitation or service at this
time. A private interment will take place at a later date.
Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton have
been entrusted with the arrangements.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the
Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in
Fredericton.
