Nygren, Shirley-Anne
March12, 1933 – October 15, 2017
Comforted by care-givers and listening to the soothing voice of Patsy Cline, Shirley passed asway at her home overlooking lower Gibsons. Shirley waged a spirited battle against her cancer diagnosis, and, for many months, she amazed family, doctors, and nurses with her tenacity and resiliency.
Shirley was predeceased by the her first husband Don Brown, who passed away in 1963, and her second husband and soulmate Bob Nygren, whom she was married to from 1971 to 2011, when he passed away.
Surviving Shirley are her brothers Joe (Lorraine) Skelton, Robert Fleming, stepson Kris Nygren, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Shirley always took an interest in what the younger generation of her family was doing.
Shirley lived on the Sunshine Coast for nearly 50 years and had many long-lasting friendships.
There are so many people to thank regarding Shirley’s journey with cancer – please attend her Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion, 747 Gibsons Way, Gibsons, BC on October 28 from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice in memory of Shirley.
