Sherrin Brunner passed away on November 18, 2017 at the young age of
72. In her last moments, she was surrounded by her family and
blanketed with many hugs and kisses. The best way to describe Sherrin
would be to say she was a great Woman, Wife, Mother and Grandmother.
She was
renowned for always finding a silver lining on every dark cloud, she
made her children and grandchildren believe they could achieve
anything they set their minds to and she could talk the ears off an
elephant. She was as tough as they come and although she stood barely
5 feet, she had no problem confronting anyone or anything with the
presence of a giant. She was a fantastic cook, her cabbage rolls were
to die for and her cookies, tarts, and squares were sinful. She would
always leave a knife in her peanut butter squares and taught us that
if you only cut a small sliver at a time, the calories didn’t count
(best advice ever!). She was hilarious but couldn’t tell a joke. She
had a contagious laugh and could play all day with her grandchildren –
they even managed to convince her to climb in a laundry basket so they
could push her down the stairs (we still laugh about that one). She
had a green thumb and loved every minute she spent in the garden. She
always counted on her husband Dick to keep the garden’s watered and
if you called him mid-summer it was guaranteed he would complain about
spending half his days watering her plants (too funny). She will be
terribly missed.
Sherrin is survived by her loving husband Dick, her two sons Barry and
Jamie (Meagan), and her three grandchildren, Piper, Fox and Ronin.
Sherrin also leaves behind her sister Geraldine (Allan). Sherrin is
predeceased by her parents, Gerhardt (1989) and Christina (1979); her
two brothers Edgar Schrader (1949) and Grant Schrader (2014); and
sisters Marion Schrader (1943), Eileen (Tom) Hygard (1948), Myrna
(Fred) Haas (1973), Elruth (Frank) DeWindt (1980), Lorna (Arnold)
Kinzel (1992), Florence (Jack) Fedyck (2008) and Margaret Schrader
(2013).
