Sheila was born in Mannville, Alberta in 1934. She worked as a social worker in Edmonton for many years, first at the Alberta Child Guidance Clinic and later at the Psychiatric Outpatient Program at the General Hospital and Grey Nuns Hospital. She was the first registrar of the Alberta College of Social Workers and a co-founder of the Retired Social Workers’ Group.
Sheila was adored by her family and had many close, caring friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Godfrey and Kathleen Brady and older sister, Alys Powe.

The family wishes to thank the staff in Unit 44 of the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Unit 12-Y of the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre, and the Mel Miller Hospice for their compassionate care during Sheila’s final days. Their thoughtful efforts helped Sheila and Ernie spend time together before Sheila passed away.
Those who so desire may make donations in memory of Sheila to the Canadian Red Cross, the Edmonton Humane Society, or a charity of their choice.
