1955-2017
It is with deep sadness that we announce
the peaceful passing of Sheila Ruth
Allan, age 61, of Springhill, formerly of Amherst, NS
and Sussex, NB. Sheila passed away on Saturday, October 28,
2017 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre with family by her
side.
Born in Sussex, NB, she was a daughter
of the late Cecil and T..Alberta (Thorne) Jeffries.
Sheila was a graceful and gracious
spirit who lived her life truly appreciating the people in it. In
return for this, she was loved by everyone who she met. She had a zest
for life and threw her energy into her many passions; gardening,
nature, art, traveling, community and most of all her family and
friends. She had an amazing sense of humor that would sneak up on you
from behind and a winning smile that rarely left her face. Sheila was
the most loyal of friends, quietly strong, positive and determined to
believe in good.
She will be eternally missed by her
partner Stephen Millard, Springhill, NS; daughter Nicole Allan (James
Kaloc), Pictou County, NS; grandchildren Joseph, Courtney, Dustin,
Aven, and Theodore; siblings John (Maureen) Jeffries, Fredericton,
Mary Ellen (Lorne) Graves, Boundary Creek, NB and Treva Jeffries
(Colin MacFarlane), Moncton, NB; many nieces and nephews; and extended
family, the Allan’s and Mike Chiang.
She was predeceased by her sons infant
Matthew in 1975 and Raymond in 2009; brother Nelson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place
on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from Noon until 2 pm, followed
immediately at 2 pm by her funeral service. Burial will
follow in the Christ Church
Cemetery.
Those wishing to make a donation in
Sheila’s memory may do so to the Young Naturalists
Club, Bishop McAllister College, Uganda, or the charity of
your choice.
