Sheila Ann (Foster) Devoe – 2016

Sheila Ann Devoe
Sydney Mines
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Sheila Ann Devoe, on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
Born in Sydney Mines on August 15, 1955, she was the daughter of Madeleine and the late Cyril Foster.
Sheila was employed at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 008, Sydney Mines. She was also a lifetime member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Sheila loved travelling to Bangor for their annual trips with all her Legion buddies. She was also part of the ladies dart league at the Legion. Sheila dearly loved spending time with her lifelong friends Gerard and Freda Potter at their summer cottage. She also loved spending time with her partner Glen, with whom she shared a great deal of love and laughter. Sheila had a great sense of humour, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She provided care for the past number of years to her Mom, which enabled her to stay in her own home.
Sheila is survived by her mother Madeleine, her only daughter, and pride and joy, Heather Ann (Blake Jessome), and her three grandchildren; Aiden, Ashton and Avery, whom she adored and were the light of her life.
She also leaves behind her loving companion Glen Steele, sisters Frances (Hugh) Moore, and Heather (Ian) MacNeil, and brothers Bobby (Corinne) Foster, and Cyril (Betty) Foster, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a number of dear friends, who will greatly miss her.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
