Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Sunday, December 24, 2017. John Joseph (Jack) Shanahan of Phelpston in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Catharine Shanahan (nee Paterson). Dear father of Martin (Carol) Shanahan of Phelpston, Heather Stanley of Barrie, and Martha Shanahan of Phelpston. Loved grandpa of Darcy Stanley, and Jacob Shanahan. Brother of the late Mary O’Neill, Paul Shanahan, Rita Coulson, and Jim Shanahan. Pre-deceased by his parents Jerome and Edna.
Visitation will be held at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home in Elmvale from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Thursday, December 28. Funeral Mass at St.Patrick’s Church in Phelpston on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11 am.
Spring Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Phelpston.
Memorial donations to the St. Patrick’s Church in Phlepston or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
