Obituary
Service Details
Scott Roberton
With profound sadness we announce the passing of our son, grandson, brother, brother-in-law,
uncle, nephew, colleague and friend. He was taken to be with the Lord on August 25, 2017.
Scott was 34 years of age.
Scott was born in Winnipeg, grew up in Calgary then moved to Gimli where he completed his
education. Scott began his insurance career in Winnipeg, as an insurance broker with Marsh
and later with Western Financial. He was currently working as an underwriter with Milnco.
Scott is remembered as a very passionate person. He loved sports, especially the Ohio Buckeyes, the
Toronto Blue Jays and of course the Winnipeg Jets.
Scott was a collector. He collected everything from broken pencil leads in elementary school
to coins, sports cards, sports figures, anything from McDonalds, oil cans… and on and on and
on.
He was a man filled with passion and excitement each time something new caught his eye,
the custom made bike he built for himself, the air compressor, the Ford Truck, ice fishing,
learning to skate so he could play hockey, fitness, cycling and learning to hunt and of course
pets – Baby Cat, Tyson, Beans and Mr. Ohio.
There will be a funeral on Friday, September 1st at 3:00 p.m., preceded by a viewing starting at
2:00 p.m. The funeral will be at Gilbarts Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline Street in Selkirk, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a donation in Scott’s memory, please consider a donation to the William H. Mcgannon Foundation, a charitable organization providing scholarships and
other support for risk management and insurance students in Canada.
Rest in peace sweet boy.
